Community/Stakeholder Relations
Balancing our nation's need for clean-burning natural gas while meeting stakeholder
expectations is not a simple process, but it is certainly our goal. Landowners,
government agencies, environmental groups and local communities are affected by our work,
and therefore, are interested in how we go about it. Williams works diligently to build
relationships of trust which involve developing ways for stakeholders to express concerns
and participate in finding solutions to problems.
Part of building that trust is our commitment to add value in the communities where we have
operations. From New York to the Gulf Coast, from New Mexico to Washington, Williams
employees are active in local communities. Recipients of the national Spirit Award from the United Way, the company – and its employees – have a long history of volunteering, serving on boards and making contributions to social, health and educational programs.
