We’re Now Expanding into West Virginia

Staff Reports

Our affiliate Williams Partners announced a major acquisition that means we will be expanding even more in the Marcellus.

Williams’ Marcellus expansions.

In a deal valued at $2.5 billion, Williams Partners has agreed to purchase Caiman Eastern Midstream, a natural gas gathering system with pipelines and assets located mainly in the panhandle of West Virginia. This is good news that will mean more jobs in the Marcellus and support for those communities where we operate. Close to 50 Caiman employees will join us, but considerably more will be needed to support our high growth projections there and elsewhere in the region.

Last month, after closing on the acquisition of Laser Northeast Gathering System, we announced plans to create the Susquehanna Supply Hub, a large scale natural gas gathering hub in northeast Pennsylvania, along with the proposed Constitution interstate pipeline, which would move Marcellus gas to energy markets on the east coast. Additionally, there is currently an open season to gauge customer interest for the proposed Atlantic Access pipeline. The project would connect natural gas supplies originating in western West Virginia and Pennsylvania to valuable markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Gulf Coast regions.
