Williams local outreach partners Scott Carney and Megan Stafford delivered Williams’ donation to Millersville University student Daniel Castellanos, a student enrolled in this innovative program, and Professor Thomas Neuville.
Millersville University’s Career & Life Studies (CLS) received a $10,000 donation from Williams’ Atlantic Sunrise Community Grant Program to support a groundbreaking academic program. The program offers adults with intellectual disabilities the benefits of attending Millersville and fully experiencing a university atmosphere.
CLS provides students with coaching and training for success in academics, vocational, and residential life skills. The first of its kind central Pennsylvania, this program is an inclusive, residential, and transitional opportunity that prepares students with intellectual disabilities for life.
As part of this program, students are admitted to the university, receive scholarships, develop knowledge and competencies in an inclusive environment, develop independent living and self-advocacy skills, and acquire gainful employment on campus and post-graduation.
