About the author: Hi, I’m Ann. As small town girl with big dreams from Hennessey, Okla., I started working for Williams three years ago upon graduating from Oklahoma State University with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Construction Management.
Williams was recently named the No.1 Most Admired U.S. Energy Company for 2015 by FORTUNE® Magazine.
When I graduated, I wasn’t sure where my career would lead me, but I was focused on where I wanted to start. I wanted a job that would allow me to collaborate with multiple groups of people, utilize my engineering degree, have a balance of office and field time, and provided an opportunity to grow my career within the company. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was extremely lucky and blessed to have found my dream job right out of college. For the past three years, I have worked as a project engineer within the Williams Engineering & Construction group in Tulsa, Okla. My job has allowed me to manage and execute engineering and construction projects, and has fulfilled all of my wishes.
Several friends have asked about my experience and my personal job satisfaction, and my answer is always the same: I love working for Williams. The atmosphere is positive and exciting with a multitude of growth opportunities in front of us. I enjoy collaborating with my coworkers to ensure our projects are executed and delivered well, and I feel blessed to have the resources available to do so.
I enjoy working for a company that doesn’t just tout that they support the community and volunteering – Williams supports the communities where our employees live and work. I enjoy working for a company that doesn’t just talk about volunteering, Williams actively encourages employees to explore different volunteer opportunities. I also appreciate that safety is a major part of our day to day activities, and I’m proud to work for a company that strives to operate safely in everything we do.
Our vision is to be the premier provider of large-scale infrastructure connecting the growing supply of North American natural gas and natural gas products to growing global demand for clean fuels and feedstocks, and I am excited to be a part of this journey.
