Girls Rock Science sponsorship helps us build the most vital pipeline of all: A diverse talent pipeline

For more than 100 years, Williams has been a leading designer, builder and operator of vital natural gas pipelines and other energy infrastructure. We’re deeply invested in Pennsylvania, and with a regional headquarters in Pittsburgh and field offices in Fayette, Susquehanna and Bradford counties, our Pennsylvania operations directly employ about 630 people.

At Williams, we know that our ability to build high-quality and reliable pipelines is only as good as the people who design, build and operate them. This requires a talent pipeline with diverse thoughts and perspectives in all areas of our business, including science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Throughout the country, Williams is committed to helping our local schools, especially in STEM education… it’s all about preparing the next generation of employees for well paid jobs with employers in STEM fields. Wherever Williams operates you’ll find our employees are serving as community volunteers and school STEM mentors. We’re also proud to sponsor STEM labs, robotics clubs and science fairs. Over the past two years Williams has contributed more than $1 million to support STEM education at the regional, state and local level.

Please join us this weekend at the Carnegie Science Center for the Williams Girls Rock Science STEM Event.  Williams has once again partnered with Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA-TV, and the Carnegie Science Center in an effort to educate young women about STEM and increase interest and understanding of these subjects through our interactive display. Historically, males have held the majority of STEM-related jobs. but by exposing young females to the limitless opportunities in STEM studies and career fields, Girls Rock Science helps balance this trend and bring diversity to STEM.

As title sponsor of the event, we look forward to meeting our future engineers, environmental scientists and finance experts at our booth, located on the first floor near the lobby. More info.
