Recently, James and Jennifer, two of our summer interns, took over our Instagram account to show you a day in the life of a Williams intern in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. They shared some great shots and we enjoyed getting a firsthand look at the work Williams is doing in Pennsylvania. In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the takeover.
Be sure to follow Williams on Instagram @williamsenergy for all the latest updates and pictures.

On site at the White compressor station! We visit stations to shadow operations technicians, technical specialists, and to collect data for our presentations and projects. We always leave at the end of the day having learned something new about operations processes!
Headed towards the discharge header outside the compressor building. James has a gas monitor in his hand, which reads the methane in the air. Employees carry these monitors to alert them of gas leaks and potentially dangerous situations.
These are the largest valves that we see in our compressor stations. The Station Suction Control Valve controls gas flow into the station, and the bypass valve allows filters to remove impurities from the gas stream before compression. In Northeast Pennsylvania in the heart of the highly productive and low-cost Marcellus, our large-scale supply hubs currently gather 5.7 Bcf/d and have extensive, reliable and robust delivery point capabilities to markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Gulf Coast.
As always, safety is the top priority at Williams, and Jennifer is rocking the look in her hard hat, safety glasses, and FRCs.
Here we are outside of Lathrop compressor stations. The compressor stations that we visit are part of the Susquehanna Supply Hub. In the beautiful hills of Northeast Pennsylvania, our large-scale supply hubs currently gather 5.7 billion cubic feet of gas per day!
While out shadowing weld inspectors, we saw the right of way for a new pipeline! You can see the pipe in the distance, waiting to be welded and then inspected. Our pipelines enable us to deliver to markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and the Gulf Coast.
Taking measurements on a compressor unit! We measure temperatures, pressures and vibration levels and use the data to evaluate how well the engine and compressor are performing.
We can’t resist a good #Willfie ! The contactor tower behind us uses triethylene glycol to take water out of the gas stream so that it can meet pipeline requirements.
Home sweet home! The Williams Tunkhannock office was built in 2015 and is just north of town. A beautiful location for a great company. We hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what we do here in Tunkhannock.
