2018 marks the 100th year Williams has been headquartered in Tulsa. Since Dave and Miller Williams moved their fledgling pipeline company from Arkansas in 1918, the city and Williams employees have been intertwined.
Tulsa has always been an extremely generous and philanthropic community. Early oil barons left vast wealth that is still being shared through family and corporate foundations today. Williams, through its corporate foundation, is one of those community partners that has supported schools, parks, hospitals, museums, the arts, and charitable organizations.
Nowhere is Williams’ support for Tulsa more evident than with the Tulsa Area United Way. For 29 consecutive years, Williams and our employees have contributed more than $1 million to the local United Way campaign. Additionally, Tulsa’s United Way traditionally stages the nation’s largest Day of Caring, where community volunteers – like the nearly 400 from Williams each year – fan out across the city to donate their time and talents on projects benefitting local United Way agencies.
