Giving back is just how we do business

“Think of giving not only as a duty but as a privilege.” – John Rockefeller

What would you do with $9.4 million?

You could buy singer Katy Perry’s house in Los Angeles.

You could have bought out football coach Charlie Strong’s contract for the University of Texas.

Or, you could give it away.

In 2018, Williams awarded nearly $9.4 million in grants to schools and organizations where we have employees, operations and infrastructure projects. This figure doesn’t even include personal contributions made by Williams employees, retirees and board members to nonprofit organizations.

Two of our primary focus areas for giving are first responders and STEM education.

Last year, grants were given to 280 first responder organizations, allowing local fire departments, police departments and emergency rescue groups to purchase equipment, receive specialized training and improve facilities.

More than $750,000 was invested in STEM-focused education, helping build a future workforce equipped to play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of the U.S. economy.

Other notable areas of giving during 2018 include:

Our commitment to being a good neighbor extends beyond financial support. Last year, we contributed more than $170,000 worth of in-kind donations, and our employees recorded more than 17,000 volunteer hours, serving as advocates, youth mentors, coaches, nonprofit board members and volunteer firefighters.

We continue to explore new opportunities to make a positive difference in our communities. It’s not our duty – it’s our privilege.
