Across the nation, our employees are known for being good neighbors through their support of the areas where we work and live. The generosity of time, talent and treasure given by Williams’ employees is in full force on this #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving traditionally held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Following widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is intended to kick off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and year-end giving.
“I give because I’ve been blessed with more than I deserve,” said employee JW DePriest, process improvement consultant. “I not only feel joy when giving time or donations, but I also believe it strengthens the bonds within the community.”
Williams is here to back these efforts.
Anytime an employee donates to an approved 501c3, that organization may be eligible for a Matching Gift from Williams. Employees can request dollar-for-dollar Matching Gifts up to $10,000 per employee per year to approved charitable organizations.
Williams also backs employees when they give time and talent to a non-profit. The organizations where employees volunteer may be eligible for a Homegrown Giving Grant, or “dollars for doing.”
In 2020 alone, Williams gave more than $1.4 million in employee and retiree Matching Gifts (not including United Way Matching Gifts) and provided another $390,170 in Homegrown Giving Grants.
“As a Williams employee, my Giving Tuesday donation has twice the impact with our matching gift program,” said Kasey St. John, senior communications specialist. “I’m grateful that my company supports the causes that are so important to me!”
